I felt awful when I first heard the diagnosis. Not sure what to do and also scared and somewhat sad
over the course of events.

I decided that robotic surgery was right for me after I investigated many options and talked with
men who had tried all of those different options. I decided that surgery was best especially in
terms of the long term outlook. Robotic surgery seemed the best option as there would be faster
healing and less risk.

My pre-surgical experience with Dr. Patel and his staff was excellent. Dr. Patel is an outstanding
surgeon with a wonderfully reassuring bedside manner. The staff was very competent.

I was nervous in the pre-op room and a bit scared. I suffered from nausea for about 12 hours after
surgery, but once that was over everything was fine. I felt very good the first day after surgery. I
felt no pain and I was able to walk around with no discomfort.

During the first week we stayed in Florida we went shopping every day. I did not enjoy the catheter
but otherwise, I had plenty of energy. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Patel and his robotic
procedure. He is a terrific surgeon and I would encourage any man who faces this cancer to seek
him out.
